Hear the Angel Voices!

One Golden Christmas

One golden Christmas
Not to long ago
A small little girl
Stood out in the snow

She looked up to heaven
And prayed a small prayer
That her daddy
Would find Jesus this year.

She still remembered
What her mama had said
To not give up
But keep praying instead

This Christmas morning
She again prayed her prayer
She had no idea
That her daddy was there

All that she said
Went straight to his heart
And melted away
Every frozen part

With tears in his eyes
He went in to his wife
And with her by his side
He gave Jesus his life

On golden Christmas
Not to long ago
Another sheep came home
By a seed a child had sown.

Christmas

Snowflakes falling from the sky,
Landing on the ground,
People singing everywhere,
And happy all around.

Putting the star on top of the tree,
Is my favorite part,
I love to do it,
From the bottom of my heart.

People are so happy,
That Santa comes tonight,
They are wishing and hoping,
He has a very safe flight.

Filling up the stocking,
Putting presents under the tree,
These are all Santa's jobs,
And the gifts are for you and me!

When the kids wake up in the morning,
They won't believe their eyes,
All the presents they have got,
Wow, what a surprise!

Christmas is just not about presents,
It is when Jesus was born,
We should remember him,
When we wake up Christmas Morn.

Christmas Tree Fashion Show

Christmas trees are lined up for the show
Waiting their walk down runway row.
Each has a hat of angelic glow
And they twinkle with lights as they go.

One is decked in blue with silk ribbons of white
Another is wearing gold that glimmers with light.
There are bows and garlands of red and bright green
And some are donned with angel hair that adds a sheen.

Here comes one short and round with trinkets galore,
And a tall tree with tinsel just stepped onto the floor.
Now how do you choose the very best one? It's easy to see
The best one wears strung popcorn, as was trimmed - by ME!

The Lost Urchin and Dasher

The night was foggy so Rudolph would lead the sleigh,
Which meant Dasher stayed home to his dismay.
Looking around for something to do, Dasher took a walk in the wood
Where he came upon a meadow in which a little urchin stood.
Dasher's eyes opened wide at such a forlorn sight
And he asked the urchin why she was there on such a miserable night.
"I got lost trying to find my way home
I know they didn't mean to leave me here alone.
And I guess I turned left when I should have turned right,
But when I went back, my footprints were no longer in sight.
And with that, the lost urchin broke down and cried.
Dasher gently nuzzled her arm with his nose.
"Climb up on my antlers. Up. Up. Easy goes.
I'll take you to safety." He said, and Dasher slowly rose
And started the long trek back to Mrs. Clause.
She'd know what to do and then perhaps they could find
The folks of this urchin who had been left behind.
Or so Dasher hoped with all his might.

Their arrival at the village created as stir.
Everyone asked questions, "Who is she?" "Where'd you find her?"
Mrs. Clause hushed them all, then lifted the sleeping bundle
She carried the urchin inside and nestled her in a trundle.
Then word was sent out and a great search was begun,
But for years it remained a mystery where the urchin had come from.
Still, on foggy nights on Dasher's antlers she'd perch,
And ride to the meadow where they continued to search.
"I just know they'll come back." Her little heart sighed.
It was Christmas Eve and Dasher was back at the head of the sleigh.
Santa was delivering gifts for the next Christmas Day,
When Dasher spied a not pinned to a tree.
As Santa read it out loud there was a shout of glee.
"We've searched and we've searched these many years round
For a little girl we lost when winter was snowbound.
If you have found a lost urchin and her name is Mary,
Please bring her back to Will and Cary."

The Mixed Up Little Elf

I work in Santa's toyshop
Where I make things that go bang and pop.
But there's an elf in another shop
In charge of gumdrops.

He got the job for a lot of reasons,
Not the least of which was he committed treason
For as Christmas got closer, this little elf for some reason
Worked with a fever that matched the season.

In his frenzy he's get mixed up with what he should do
Making dolls with brass buttons and soldiers with bottles,
And trains that went splish-splash, and were missing their throttles.
Pop guns went "Boo" and rocking horses went "Moo"!

And the harder the work of this little elf
The more he seemed beside himself.
Finally, Santa, hiding his frustration
Said, "I'm giving you a better occupation."

"You're in charge of gum drops from this day forth."
Now the little elf works for all he's worth
To prepare a mixture of rainbow confection
For the taste of children's sweet delectation.

The Cashmere Cloak

There was once a man who cried, "Lord, I have no home."
And a second who said, "I thirst in this desert alone."
There was a third who said, "Feed me. I have nothing to eat."
There was also a fourth who cried, "I've lost my house, my wife, my family.
Lord, I've lost it all, and I grovel at your feet."

To the first the Lord said, "I give you back you home and three more besides."
To the second he said, "Here are cups of silver and gold,
And all the wine your heart can hold."
To the third he said, "I have made you a feast
and give you all you could ever want to eat."
When he came to the fourth man he said, "I've given all I had to the rest, but here,
Take my cloak. It is cashmere. These two-pense, and my flask besides."

Time passed and on a return journey, the Lord was robbed and beaten.
As he came to the town his heart lifted for he thought -
I have friends who live here and will be well treated.
He knocked on the door of the first man and said,
"I'm tired and I've been robbed and beaten. Can you help me, friend?"
"There's no room for you here." He replied. "Try down the road at the Inn."
So the Lord entered the Inn and he saw the second man drinking from the golden cup.
"Friend, I know you! May I rest and share with you a sup?"
"This is a private room." Said the second man. "You'll have to step out of here."
Turning the Lord looked and saw the third man in the dining room having a feast.
"My dear friend!" Cried the Lord. "Would you mind if I sat down to eat?"
"I don't think I know you with your clothes so torn.
Move on. Let us be." The third man replied with scorn.

With no rooms left, and no sustenance within
The lord stooped his shoulders and left the Inn.
As he neared the end of the alley a man cried.
"My Lord! What has happened? From whence have you come?"
"I was robbed." Said the Lord. "And turned away from the Inn
Though I met three men I had thought were my friends."
"I haven't much." Said the fourth men. "Save half a sandwich and two sups of wine.
Here, let us spread this cloak. It is cashmere, and we can sit and dine.
For I, too, know what it is like not to have a friend."
